Overshadowed in the media by the Coronavirus pandemic, the issue of obesity has taken a back seat, at least in recent years. However, it remains a very important topic for those working in medical rescue, as, according to data reported by the ISS, it has reached dramatic proportions.
In Europe, obesity is estimated to be associated with 1.2 million deaths per year. This condition is directly or indirectly linked to several diseases and represents a significant risk factor.
What is particularly concerning is that obesity is connected to modern lifestyles and is a growing phenomenon. For this reason, its prevalence is expected to increase further.
